I took the plunge

I took the plunge and gave in to try my hand at making hexies. I'm not sure that they are addictive, for me, as everyone says they are. They are fun and I do very much enjoy having something to do with my hands while watching tv. Here's what I've gotten done so far....

Hubby keeps asking me what I'm making. Honestly, I have no clue. As far as I know I'm still seeing if I enjoy it. So, this is where I need your assistance... What should I make? I have 1/2 yard of each blue and white cut into 2.5 inch hexies, but what do I make?

  1. I feel the same way about hexies. I love to see them in projects, but actually sewing them? I found that to be pretty tedious. Now, embroidery, on the other hand, I could do that all day and never tire of it!
I would use what you have made to embellish something. Maybe a pillow, or a pair of jeans? That would look super cute!

  2. Well, you could make a pillow, mini quilt, or a table runner or something. I usually only make a few hexies at a time, and then sew them on to something like a pincushion...also, I do not do them the hand basting way...

  4. I have to say I love the fabrics you are using. I haven't tried hexies yet. Something about having two little kiddos around keeps my handwork projects to a minimum, LOL!
